Craclair Walking Tours offers backpacking and bushwalking treks in the Tasmanian wilderness World Heritage Area. Craclair is based in Launceston, northern Tasmania, and offers tours ranging in duration, difficulty and location.
Craclair’s tours include gentle, cabin-based walks, lightweight supported bushwalks and extended hiking expeditions. Tours include Cradle Mountain, the Overland Track, Walls of Jerusalem National Park and the southwest wilderness. The treks cater for a range of age groups and capabilities and are from three to 14 days in duration. Tailored itineraries can be arranged to suit families, friends and special groups.
Craclair Walking Tours was established in 1968. The principle focus is on minimal impact bushwalking practices, interpretation of flora and fauna, geology and history. The company employs guides with extensive local knowledge and interpretive skills, and each tour has a ratio of one guide to three clients. The cabin-based treks and lightweight bushwalks are fully supported and guests carry only lightweight packs. Guides carry all tents, cooking equipment and food. Transfers to and from Launceston are included.
