Martinborough is a 1 hour 15 minutes drive north east from Wellington and approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes drive south west from Napier. Alternatively a train can be caught from Wellington to Featherston, where a connecting bus continues on to Martinborough. On a clear day you can see all the way to the south island.
