Explore Australia's first and longest operating navigational light. Macquarie Lighthouse was originally built in 1818, designed by convict architect, Francis Greenway. Macquarie Lighthouse has an important place in the history of Sydney’s settlement and still provides a guiding light for ships entering the harbour.
The lighthouse grounds are open every day and have spectacular harbour, city and ocean views. Tours of the Lighthouse operate every second month. The next lighthouse open day will be on 18 April, 2010. Visit the website for booking details.
