One of Sydney’s oldest suburbs, Parramatta has an array of interesting historic sites to visit, with most reachable by foot. For a blast from the past historic Hambledon Cottage, built in 1824, has been fully restored and furnished in 1820’s period furniture. Or engage in a lesson in history at The NSW Lancers Memorial Museum where showcases full of vintage weaponry, uniforms and equipment will take you back to the days of the famous Light Horse. Other historic sites of interest include Lennox Bridge, Linden House Museum and Parramatta Heritage Centre, or perhaps just enjoy a stroll along the banks of Lake Parramatta.
